Soft toy making

8 weeks of School holidays soft toys making .

Children work at their own pace through a curriculum of topics and learn to soft toys and cute decors.

This course will consist of project based sessions to introduce children to the basic soft toys making techniques while building their confidence.

It is ideal for children who have never sew before.

Days 1 & 2 : Getting to know the sewing machine and how it works.
Children will learn how the sewing machine works and how to thread it. They will learn how to wind a bobbin in preparation of starting on the first project. They will also learn fine hand sewing techniques.

Children will complete eight simple sewing projects over the 8 weeks.

Before children finish off on week 8 we will quickly refresh all that was taught over the 8 weeks

Suitable age group -

Children aged 8 -13 years old with no prior experience needed. 13 years and above are welcome to join as well if they are comfortable blending with the age group mentioned.

Children 5 to 7 can join in as well. Their projects will be easy hand sewing projects.

Children above 14 and 15 too are welcome to join if they are fine to learn and sew with a blended age groups. There will be a blend of difficulty level in the projects for this age group.

By the end of this course, children will......

Confidently use a sewing machine, sew and cut fabric straight.
Learn hand and machine sewing finishes.
Learn basic troubleshooting
Learn simple techniques to reuse old clothes for their sewing projects
Finish their projects neatly.

What to bring...

Cotton fabrics with pretty prints or just being an old bedsheet (not silk or satin) washed and neatly pressed.
Thread black or white
2 unfilled bobbins
A pack of hobby fill.
A pack of sewing machine needles
A bottle of water

From 8th December, 2025 to 31st January, 2026 from 3pm to 4:30pm.
