Swap your unwanted clothes for new to you clothes!

 

Come along and swap your nice but unwanted clothes over a cup of tea with likeminded folks. Bring friends and have a fab evening of swapping your old togs for new ones (new to you!).  We'll have expert seamstresses on hand to give advice and ideas on what can be mended, altered, and customized.

 

When:  Once each term holidays surely over the weekends only. 

 

Entry:

• $5 per member
• Bring a bag of clothing to swap (2-10 items). Make sure to read through our swapping rules below*

 Clothes Swap - Rules & Guidelines

• Bring: clothes, shoes, accessories
• Don't bring: Jewellery, underwear!
• All items must be clean.
• Take home up to as many items as you bring.
• Nothing grotty, snotty, smelly, or yucky please : )
• Little holes or small stains on otherwise lovely garments can be fixed/covered (in our classes by the swapper or by their local alterations & mending person!)
• Bobblelastic / linted jumpers are a no-no!
• No pet hair on clothing
• Bring your own bags to carry things away in or you can some pretty buy handmade bags from us at the event.
• You may try on three items max at a time - we will have a couple of change areas.
• Leftover clothes should be taken back by the swappers who bring them, or they will be donated to various charity shops or cut up if usable to make stuff of animals.
• To alter or mend any clothing items that you love, but don't fit quite right:
• chat to our expert seamstresses on the day about what is possible.
• bring along your swapped clothes to one of our sewing classes or our alterations classes if it might interest you.
• Bring a travel mug for a free cuppa at the event!

Terms and conditions

• Once booked, there will be no refunds.
• If you can't find any clothing at the event to swap your cast-offs for, you can take back what you brought and bring it in at the next event.
• Below 18's must attend with an adult
• You can bring ladies, gents and childrens clothes to the clothing swap.
• No children allowed to any of these events as we will be having seamstresses at hand, and some might be with sewing equipment.
