This is a hands-on, well-structured 10-week Children’s Clothing Sewing Course designed for absolute beginners who want to progress into confident garment makers specialising in kidswear.

Students will learn how to take accurate children’s measurements, understand ease and growth allowance, draft basic children’s clothing patterns, select suitable fabrics, and construct durable, comfortable garments for everyday wear and special occasions.

Throughout the course, participants will create multiple children’s garment samples and complete several finished outfits for both girls and boys.

The course focuses on practical sewing skills, pattern drafting techniques, garment construction, fitting adjustments, and professional finishing, giving students the confidence to sew children’s clothing independently or even start a small sewing business.

⭐ Week 1 — Introduction to Kidswear Sewing & Tools

• Understanding sewing machine basics
• Essential sewing tools and safety
• Introduction to children’s garment construction
• Understanding sizing charts (ages 2–12)

• Drafting simple elastic waist shorts

⭐ Week 4 — Sewing Kids Shorts / Pants

• Waistband casing construction
• Hem finishing techniques
• Reinforcement for durability

⭐ Week 5 — Pattern Drafting: Girls Simple Dress

• Drafting A-line / gathered dress
• Neckline shaping
• Sleeveless armhole shaping
• Skirt attachment

⭐ Week 6 — Sewing Girls Dress

• Gathering techniques
• Bias finishing neckline / armhole
• Decorative elements (optional trims / pockets)
• Pressing & finishing

⭐ Week 7 — Pattern Drafting: Boys Shirt / Unisex Top

• Drafting simple shirt / t-top
• Sleeve drafting basics
• Placket introduction
• Collar basics (optional simplified collar)

⭐ Week 8 — Sewing Boys Shirt / Unisex Top

• Sleeve attachment methods
• Front opening construction
• Button placement & buttonholes
• Hemming curved edges

✅ Finish Project: Shirt / Top

⭐ Week 9 — Pattern Drafting: Children’s Pyjama Set

• Drafting loose comfortable fit
• Elastic waist variation

✅ Draft: Pyjama set

⭐ Week 10 — Sewing & Final Project Completion

• Construct full pyjama set
• Final garment finishing standards
• Basic alteration techniques
• Quality checking
• Course revision
