Roman Blinds can be a fantastic addition to your house interior and great way to create shade without using too much fabric.
During this workshop, you will make a sample unlined roman blind and combine the following sewing and DIY techniques:
- Estimating fabric quantities
- Learn how to measure windows
- Calculate fabric quantities
- Allow for seams & turnings
- Add trimmings, rods, battens
- Apply headings & velcro
- Cord blinds up professionally
- Discuss systems available
- Assemble pieces together
With the knowledge gained in making the sample roman blind, you will be able to go away and make your roman blinds for any window in your house.
As this is a very detailed course and I want to make sure you have all the attention you need, please try not to be late for any of the classes.
Who is this for?
This class is for experienced Seamstresses. Ideally, you will need to have Beginners / Improvers level sewing skills to ensure you have the core sewing skills and confidence you need to tackle roman blinds.
What to bring....
Sewing machine (if you have one)
Fabric and materials required.
I would recommend you choose a small window so that you can complete the project during the workshop.
Bring your chosen fabric, lining and blind making kit to make a roman blind.
Once your payment is received, I will send you details on how to measure up your window.
Make sure you bring your basic sewing kit including fabric scissors, pins, tape measure, drafting paper, matching cottons/ thread along with filled in bobbins and extra sewing machine needles.
