Basic sewing machine knowledge is recommended, although assistance will be provided throughout the workshop.

 

During This Workshop You Will Learn

• Gathering and easing fabric

• Creating a neat bodice

• Constructing sleeves

• Attaching sleeves correctly

By the end of the workshop, you'll take home your very own handmade Milkmaid Top along with the confidence and skills to create more garments independently.

 

Supply List.....

Students are required to bring:

- 2 metres of woven cotton, cotton lawn, linen blend, rayon or other lightweight apparel fabric (amount may vary depending on size and style)

- Matching quality polyester thread

- Sewing machine in good working order (if you have one)

- Machine instruction manual (recommended)

- Universal sewing machine needles (Size 80/12 or 90/14)

- Fabric scissors

- Paper scissors

- Pins or sewing clips

- Tape measure

- Fabric marking pencil or tailor's chalk

- Seam ripper

- Hand sewing needle

- Iron and ironing board (if working from home)

- Notebook and pen

- Water bottle

 

Workshop Duration

6 weeks

One 2-hour class per week

Total tuition time: 12 hours
