School Holidays Sewing Classes

8 weeks of School holidays sewing classes.

Children work at their own pace through a curriculum of topics and learn sewing skills.

This course will consist of  project based sessions to introduce children to the basic sewing techniques while building their confidence.

It is ideal for children who have never sew before.

Week 1 : Getting to know the sewing machine and how it works.
Children will learn how the sewing machine works and  how to thread it. They will learn how to wind a bobbin in preparation of starting on the first project in from week 2.

Children will complete eight simple sewing projects over week 2 & 8.

Before children finish off on week 10 we will quickly refresh all that was taught over the 8 weeks

Suitable age group -

Children aged 8 -13 years old with no prior experience needed. 13 years and above are welcome to join as well if they are comfortable blending with the age group mentioned.

By the end of this course, children will......

Confidently use a sewing machine, sew and cut fabric straight.
Learn basic troubleshooting
Learn simple techniques to reuse old clothes for their sewing projects
Finish their projects neatly.

What to bring :

You can choose to buy new fabric or send an old bedsheet (not silk or satin) - sustainable learning.
Thread black or white
2 unfilled bobbins
A pack of sewing machine needles
A bottle of water

Cost: $45 per week 

From 8th December to 31st January
3pm to 4:30pm
