This course is thoughtfully structured to help students build strong foundational skills, understand ribbon behaviour, and confidently create dimensional embroidery designs—not just follow steps, but truly understand the craft.

Frequency: 1 Day per Week
Class Length: 1.5 Hours per Session
Day : Thurdays
Timings: Between 4pm to 7:30pm

🌿 Week 1 — Foundations & Essential Techniques
Focus: Getting comfortable with tools, ribbons, and basic control
What you will learn:
Introduction to ribbon embroidery
Types of ribbons (silk, satin, organza) and their uses
Understanding fabric suitability
Preparing fabric (hooping, stabilising)
Threading ribbon needles correctly
Ribbon handling techniques (twist control, tension, lay direction)

Students will create a basic sampler exploring ribbon behaviour and control.
🌸 Week 2 — Building Floral Elements
Focus: Creating simple flowers and layered textures
What you will learn:
Loop stitch techniques
Lazy daisy (detached chain) with ribbon
French knots with ribbon
Creating buds and small floral clusters
Placement and spacing for balanced design
Practical Work......
Small floral motifs
Simple leaves and stems combinations
👉 Outcome:
Students will complete a mini floral sampler panel.
🌷 Week 3 — Dimensional Embroidery Techniques
Focus: Adding depth, volume, and realism
What you will learn:
Layering petals for dimension
Folded ribbon techniques
Creating roses
Combining stitches for realistic flowers
Colour blending with ribbons
Practical Work.....
Creating 2–3 dimensional flowers
Composition planning

Students begin their final project design layout.
🌼 Week 4 — Final Project & Finishing Techniques
Focus: Completing a polished piece
What you will learn:
Transferring designs onto fabric
Combining all learnt techniques
Securing ribbon ends neatly
Finishing methods (framing, mounting, or appliqué use)
Care and preservation of ribbon embroidery
Practical Work.....
Complete a final project such as:
Floral hoop art
Embellished cushion panel
Decorative fabric piece

A completed ribbon embroidery project ready for display or gifting.

To ensure a smooth learning experience, students are required to bring the following:

Embroidery hoop (6”–8” recommended)
Ribbon embroidery needles (Chenille needles – assorted sizes)
Small sharp scissors
Hand sewing needles
Pins
Fabric marking tools (tailor’s chalk or fabric pen)
Measuring tape
Ribbons & Threads.....
Silk or satin ribbons (variety of widths recommended):
