✨ Your Four-Week Creative Journey

WEEK 1 — MY FIRST BOX BOT

Project: Colourful Standing Robot

Children begin their creative construction journey by transforming small cardboard boxes and recycled packaging into a colourful standing robot.

They will explore how different shapes can be combined to create a head, body, arms and legs.

Learners will decorate their robots using coloured paper, markers and other suitable craft materials.

Skills: Basic construction, shape recognition, joining and decorating.

Finished project: Colourful standing cardboard robot.

WEEK 2 — THE WIGGLY ROBOT

Project: Robot with Moving Arms and Legs

This week, children discover how simple movable joints can bring their robots to life!

Using prepared cardboard pieces and paper fasteners, learners will construct a robot with arms and legs that can move.

They will explore how the joints work and experiment with different poses.

Skills: Movable joints, connecting components, sequencing and construction.

Finished project: Poseable cardboard robot.

WEEK 3 — ROBOT ON WHEELS

Project: My Rolling Robot

Children will explore how wheels and axles allow objects to move.

Using a lightweight recycled box, prepared cardboard wheels and simple axles, learners will construct a rolling robot.

They can personalise their creations with colourful designs, robot faces and imaginative features.

Skills: Basic wheel mechanisms, balance, alignment and problem-solving.

Finished project: Wheeled robot creation.

WEEK 4 — MY ULTIMATE ROBOT INVENTION

Project: My Personalised Robot

For their final creative challenge, children become robot inventors!

They will plan and construct an original robot using their favourite techniques from previous weeks.

Each learner will give their robot a name and imagine a special purpose or function.

Perhaps it's a gardening robot, a homework helper, a space explorer or a robot that makes people smile!

Children will be encouraged to explain their invention and demonstrate any movable features.

Skills: Design planning, creative problem-solving, independent construction and storytelling.

Finished project: Personalised robot invention.

Projects may be adapted to suit each child's age, abilities and working pace. Prepared construction components may be used where appropriate.
