Get ready for four weeks of colourful, fluffy creativity!

Our Pom-Pom Animal Creations course introduces children aged 5–12 to the wonderful world of yarn crafts through fun, hands-on projects.

Children will learn to make pom-poms in different sizes, combine them into animal shapes and add decorative features to bring their handmade characters to life.

Each week introduces new techniques and creative challenges. By the end of the course, children will have created a collection of adorable pom-pom animals and a personalised miniature display.

No previous crafting experience is necessary!

🧸 Your 4-Week Creative Journey

Week 1 — My First Fluffy Friends

Project: Pom-Pom Caterpillar

Children learn to make pom-poms using simple pom-pom makers or cardboard templates.

They will practise wrapping, tying and trimming yarn before joining several pom-poms to create a colourful caterpillar.

Take-home creation: A fluffy pom-pom caterpillar.

Week 2 — Animal Shapes & Features

Project: My Fluffy Bunny or Teddy Bear

Children learn to combine pom-poms of different sizes to create animal bodies and heads.

Using felt and suitable embellishments, they will add ears, eyes, noses and other features.

Take-home creation: A handmade bunny, teddy bear or similar animal.

Week 3 — My Pom-Pom Animal Family

Project: Three Little Animal Friends

Children will design and create a collection of miniature animal characters.

Possible designs include chicks, birds, mice, puppies and kittens.

Younger learners may use prepared templates, while older children can experiment with their own designs.

Take-home creation: Up to three miniature pom-pom animals, depending on individual working pace.

Week 4 — My Fluffy Animal World

Project: Miniature Animal Garden or Themed Display

Children will create a personalised display featuring the animals they have made.

Possible themes include:

• Woodland animal garden.
• Colourful farmyard.
• Fluffy pet family.
• Miniature animal playground.
• Magical animal village.

Children will arrange their animals, add scenery and decorate their display.

Final creation: A miniature animal world featuring their handmade pom-pom friends.

Activities and project sizes may be adapted to suit each child's age, abilities and working pace.

🧶 Supply List — What Learners Need to Bring

All learners must bring their own materials and equipment. Course fees do not include supplies.

Essential Materials

• Assorted yarn in 4–6 colours.
• Pom-pom makers in two or three sizes, or cardboard templates.
• Child-safe scissors.
• Felt sheets in assorted colours.
• Suitable craft glue.
• Googly eyes or felt pieces for eyes.
• Small pieces of cardboard.
• Pencil and ruler.

Final Project Materials

• One sturdy cardboard base or small display board.
• Coloured craft paper.
• Extra felt or yarn scraps for decorations.

Optional Decorations

• Ribbons.
• Small decorative pom-poms.
• Chenille stems, where age-appropriate.
• Buttons or other suitable embellishments.

Personal Essentials

• Small storage container.
• Bag for transporting projects.
• Water bottle and small snack.

Parents' Note: Most materials can be used throughout all four weeks. Separate craft kits are not required for each session.

Small embellishments and tools will be selected according to each child's age and abilities. Children will receive appropriate supervision when using scissors and adhesives.
