Children begin their string-art adventure by learning how yarn can be wrapped around prepared pegs to create a decorative shape.
Using a heart-shaped pattern, learners will practise following the outline before filling the design with colourful crossing strands.
Younger children can use larger prepared pegs and thicker yarn, while older learners may experiment with more detailed wrapping.
Skills: Basic wrapping, outlining, colour selection and hand-eye coordination.
Finished project: Colourful string-art heart.
WEEK 2 — RAINBOW STRING MAGIC
Project: My Rainbow String-Art Picture
This week, children explore how different yarn colours can be arranged to create a bright rainbow design.
Using a prepared rainbow-shaped string-art board, learners will practise working in sections and following a colour sequence.
They will experiment with layering and arranging yarn to create a colourful finished picture.
Skills: Colour sequencing, pattern following, layering and coordination.
Finished project: Rainbow string-art picture.
WEEK 3 — GEOMETRIC STRING CREATIONS

Skills: Geometric shapes, symmetry, pattern recognition and spatial awareness.
Finished project: Geometric string-art star.
WEEK 4 — MY STRING ART MASTERPIECE
Project: My Personalised String-Art Initial
For their final creative adventure, children become string-art designers!

They will combine outlining, wrapping, layering and decorative techniques learned throughout the course.
Children can add simple decorative details to create a unique artwork for their bedroom or study space.
