Who says you need knitting needles to create something wonderful?

Our Finger Knitting Fun four-week course introduces children to the colourful world of yarn crafts using just their fingers!

Children will learn how to loop, pull and work yarn into soft knitted chains before transforming their creations into bracelets, headbands, decorations and other handmade treasures.

Throughout the course, learners will explore different yarn textures, experiment with colours and develop practical crafting skills through fun, hands-on activities.

Finger knitting encourages concentration, coordination, patience and creativity while giving children the satisfaction of making something themselves.

No previous knitting experience is necessary!

🧵 Your 4-Week Creative Journey

Week 1 — First Loops

Project: My First Finger-Knitted Creations

Children discover how to create yarn loops and knitted chains using their fingers.

They will practise basic finger knitting techniques, explore different yarns and make their first small creations.

Week 2 — Longer Chains

Project: Colourful Bracelets & Headbands

Children build confidence by creating longer, more even knitted chains.

They will learn how to measure their work and transform their knitted lengths into simple bracelets, headbands or decorative accessories.

Week 3 — Colour Patterns

Project: Stripes & Creative Yarn Designs

This week, children experiment with changing yarn colours and combining knitted lengths.

They will explore stripes, colour combinations and simple joining techniques to create decorative yarn projects.

Week 4 — My Final Finger-Knitting Project

Project: Mini Scarf or Decorative Yarn Creation

Children bring together their new skills to complete a personalised finger-knitted project.

Depending on their age, experience and abilities, learners can create:

• A miniature scarf or neck accessory.
• A decorative yarn wall hanging.
• A colourful knitted garland.
• A personalised yarn decoration.

Projects will be adapted to suit each child's ability and the available class time.

🧶 Supply List — What Learners Need to Bring

All learners must bring their own materials and equipment. Course fees do not include supplies.

Essential Materials

• Chunky yarn in several colours.
• Soft, smooth yarn suitable for beginners.
• Child-safe scissors.
• Measuring tape.
• Yarn needle with a blunt tip.
• Small buttons or suitable decorative embellishments.
• Ribbons or other optional decorations.

Additional Essentials

• Small container or bag for yarn and supplies.
• Folder for project notes.
• Bag for transporting completed projects.
• Water bottle and small snack.

Please note: Smooth, medium-to-chunky yarn is recommended for beginners. Small embellishments will only be used where appropriate for the learner's age and abilities.
