Course Description
This 6-week beginner-friendly course introduces students to the beautiful traditional technique of drawn thread work, a decorative textile art that creates elegant openwork patterns by carefully withdrawing fabric threads and embellishing the remaining structure with embroidery stitches.
Through clear step-by-step guidance, students will learn how to prepare suitable fabrics, safely withdraw threads, create structured decorative borders, explore filling stitches, and develop balanced geometric designs. Each session combines technical understanding with hands-on practice to build accuracy, confidence, and creative independence.
By the end of the course, learners will a collection of decorative sampler pieces along with one finished project such as a bookmark, small runner, or decorative panel. Students will also gain the knowledge needed to apply drawn thread techniques to garments, table linen, and future textile art projects.
This course is ideal for beginners, embroidery enthusiasts, textile lovers, and anyone seeking a relaxing yet skill-building creative experience.
🎯 Course Goal
By the end of this course, students will understand the traditional technique of drawn thread work, including fabric preparation, thread withdrawing methods, decorative filling stitches, edging techniques and finishing methods.
Students will complete multiple small decorative samples and one finished project, gaining the confidence to continue creating textile art independently.

Students should bring:
• Evenweave fabric or linen (recommended)
• Embroidery scissors
• Embroidery needles (sizes 22–26 tapestry or crewel)
• Cotton embroidery thread / pearl cotton
• Measuring tape or ruler
• Fabric marking pen or tailor’s chalk
• Pins
• Small notebook & pen
• Optional: embroidery hoop

Class Length: 1.5 Hours per Session
Day : Fridays
Timings: Between 4pm to 7:30pm
Fee : $75 per week
