Childrens Crochet Classes

After-school classes teaching crochet skills. Children work at their own pace through a curriculum of projects and learn:

This course will consist of a eight project based sessions to introduce children to all the basic crochet stitches while building their confidence.

It is ideal for children who have never crocheted before. The course includes their very own kit of a crochet hook, yarn and a little bag to keep it all in.

Week 1 : Getting a grip of the hook and chaining in double the fun while learning together.
Children will learn how to hold the hook and how to create a chain. They will be learn how to double crochet and turn chains in preparation of starting on the first project in the second week.

Week 2 : I will be taking the children onto their first climb and stepping into the very first project - a cute bracelet.

Week 3 : Its getting a bit more fun now as in this season we will be making a simple flower hair clip.
We will put together what we have learnt so far to make a few flowers.

Week 4 : A little token of love for crochet with crocheting a pair of pretty little heart earrings. Children will learn how to crochet little hearts and make them in earrings.

Week 5 : This session we will work on a simple bookmark and allow time to finish off any unfinished work from previous sessions.

Weeks 6 & 7 :  We work our last project a scrunchie. This project with go for these two weeks while children learn new crochet terms as well.

Week 8: Refresh all that was taught over the week

Suitable age group -

Children aged 8 -15 years old with no prior experience needed.

By the end of this course, children will......

Confidently hold a crochet hook and yarn
Master basic stitches like single crochet, double crochet, and chain stitch
Learn simple shaping techniques to craft unique projects
Finish their projects neatly.

What to bring : 

4.5 to 5.5mm hook 

10 - 12 ply yarn
