Our Children’s Patchwork & Dirty Quilting Classes introduce young creatives to the art of combining fabrics, colours, textures, and stitching techniques while building confidence, patience, and practical sewing skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
This course encourages creativity over perfection — making it ideal for children who love arts, crafts, textiles, and hands-on learning.
Children will learn:
fabric coordination
measuring & cutting
piecing techniques
hand & machine sewing
layering & quilting basics
creative upcycling
confidence with sewing tools
patience, creativity, and problem-solving skills
The course is designed to be relaxed, enjoyable, and highly hands-on while still teaching proper sewing foundations.
✂️ WHAT IS “DIRTY QUILTING”?
“Dirty quilting” is a relaxed, creative style of quilting where:
seams may intentionally show
raw/frayed edges become decorative
mixed fabrics and textures are encouraged
creativity matters more than perfection
This makes it especially wonderful for children because it removes fear of mistakes and encourages artistic freedom.
