Class overview:

 

An introduction to patchwork and machine quilting.

This 4-week course will teach you the fundamentals of patchwork and quilting. This course is designed for beginners looking to start and complete their first quilt. You should have a couple of sewing projects under your belt, but you don’t need to have any experience with patchwork and quilting.

 

What you will learn......

 

In this course you will learn the essential skills to make a quilt and a patchwork cushion cover. You will be guided though each step to complete your projects. 

 

You will end the course with the confidence to take your new patchwork and quilting skills to the next level! Learn a simple block and then build on your skills as this course is designed to help novice quilters gain confidence with piecing skills. You will learn to read a pattern, fabric care, pressing techniques and much more. By the end of your 4 week course, you will have your finished a quilt and cushion cover.

 

Skill level: Beginners

 

No previous patchwork or quilting experience is needed but you will need to know how to use a sewing machine to get the most out of this course.

Supply List:

 

Sewing Machine, foot pedal and power cord 

1/4” foot or tape to mark a 1/4” guide line on the machine

Coordinating Thread

Microtex 90/14 Sewing Machine Needles

Measuring Gauge 

Seam Ripper

Rotary Cutter

Scissors

Sewing Pins

Binding Clips

Marking Pen or Chalk

Irons and Ironing Boards are available at the studio for use.

 

(Please be familiar with your sewing machine, I can possibly offer suggestions I we do not know the details of how all the different brands of sewing machines operate)
